'Seafloor' is the largest boundary layer of the solid earth system. Huge flux of heat and chemicals has been observed across the layer from the interior of the earth. This flux depends on the subseafloor water advection. We focus on the advection and named it 'TAIGA', which is a Japanese word meaning "Big river flow".
TAIGA project is an interdisciplinary project which focuses on interactions between lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere through the fluid circulation system beneath the seafloor. The project is funded by MEXT from FY2008 to FY2012.
